Sarah Bayens is our new YBT ‘Winner’. In front of a packed Studio 4 Flagey, Sarah was chosen from the five outstanding finalists as the overall winner. It was an extremely closely fought title, with every finalist in for a very good chance of winning. The public were divided and so were the jury and it came down to merely a matter of personal preference, rather than a clear winner… Congratulations to Sarah, and many thanks to her wonderful YBT colleague finalists: Hanne Beyens, Felix Vermeirsch, Georges-Lucas Ilouridze, Balder Dendievel.
Sarah, 18, comes from Antwerp and studies under Shirly Laub at The Royal Conservatory, Brussels. Sarah wowed us all with her beautiful phrasing and intonation. Sarah has all the ingredients to go on as a soloist one day.
